I am I Because my Dog Knows Me
In this production Gertrude Stein’s play Three Sisters who are not sisters is interwoven with her texts Identity a Poem, Ada, Mi Careme and Lesson Two (from Gertrude Stein First Reader). The common theme is the search for identity and how language can define us. Four characters are trying to figure out their relationship to the world around them and the direction plays with the floating of their identities. The music in the performance is taken from Das Wolltemperierte Klavier by Johann Sebastian Bach, and the dance is inspired by the classical Indian dance form Barathanatyam.
Performed at Unga Klara at Stockholm City Theatre.
